We’re a couple who swapped the pace of the city for a life closer to nature, where our days are full, but our surroundings are calm.
In 2017, we were ready for a new chapter. We found it in the Orongorongo Ranges, just behind Upper Hutt. What began as a vision for a simpler life quickly turned into a full-blown passion project. We built our home by hand and, step by step, transformed the surrounding forest into a place we now get to share with others.

Glen, an engineer-turned-builder, brings the big ideas to life — from designing and handcrafting the forest hut to heating the hot tub just right. Your hut was built with care and designed to blend into the bush, giving you comfort without clutter.
Celeste is a graphic designer with a love for natural textures, peaceful spaces, and thoughtful details. She’s the creative heart behind the retreat’s interior touches and the experience design — from the life-reinvention journal to the cozy robes waiting in your hut.

We believe there’s something healing about being in nature.
It’s something that can’t be bottled or scheduled, but can definitely be felt. It’s in the birdsong, the smell of wet earth, the quiet moments with a cup of tea, and a view of the trees. That’s what Nature Nurtures is all about.
We’re still busy — building, designing, hosting, and dreaming — but we do it surrounded by birds, trees, and the rhythm of the bush. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
