    Short on time? We occasionally offer single-night stays on Sundays or during quieter periods. This is a great way to dip your toes into off-grid forest living.

Surrounded by forest

The hut sits quietly among ferns and tall trees, just a 5-minute bush walk from the carpark. You’ll be greeted by birdsong, forest air, and the feeling that time moves differently here. Watch the light shift through the leaves, spot a tūī or pīwakawaka flitting by, and fall asleep to the soothing call of the ruru.

Outside, your private deck is the perfect place to sit with a morning coffee or an evening wine — or sway gently in the hammock as you listen to the sounds of the bush. You’ll feel wrapped in nature from the moment you arrive.

Soak under the stars

One of the most-loved features of the hut is the wood-fired hot tub tucked under the trees. Warm, steamy, and ready when you are, it’s your own private soaking spot. Light the fire, pour a drink, and settle in as the stars begin to appear. There’s something deeply grounding about bathing in the open air, surrounded by forest and sky.

Inside the Hut

The inside of the hut is warm, inviting, and full of thoughtful touches. We've designed it to feel like a true retreat — cozy, calming, and beautifully functional. 

Here’s what you’ll find inside:

  • a comfy queen-sized bed with hotel-quality linen, soft blankets and fluffy pillows 

  • fully-equipped kitchenette with oven, stovetop, fridge, cooking utensils, oil, salt, sugar, butter, and more 

  • a generous breakfast starter kit including local free-range eggs, ciabatta bread, homemade muesli, milk, tea, coffee, and milo 

  • private ensuite with a flushing toilet and a hot, forest-view shower 

  • luxurious towels, robes, face cloths and eco-friendly toiletries 

  • French press coffee plunger and teapot 

  • outdoor seating and hammock for lazy afternoons 

  • filtered rainwater that’s safe and delicious to drink 

  • Wi-Fi, power, heating and lighting 

  • a few surprise extras we’ve included just for fun!
